Jim Lynam is a former professional basketball player and coach. He was born on December 11, 1941, in Girardville, Pennsylvania. Lynam played college basketball at Saint Joseph's University and went on to play in the NBA for the San Francisco Warriors, St. Louis Hawks, and Philadelphia 76ers.
After his playing career, Lynam transitioned to coaching, becoming an assistant coach for the 76ers before taking on head coaching roles with the San Diego/Los Angeles Clippers, Washington Bullets, and Philadelphia 76ers. He also served as an assistant coach for the Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets at various points in his coaching career.
Lynam is known for his knowledge of the game and his ability to develop young players. He has been a respected figure in the basketball community for many years and is considered a valuable mentor to coaches and players alike.
